First of all, hi to you all guies and thx a lot for all what has been done up to now,

I just got few days ago a brand new X300T box from a friend who did not need it at all.
Model: KMM3210-DE Rev 0J V2

I have since few years a Linux Video Server (VDR) broadcasting my DVB-S cards over normal ARIAL HF signal threw all my house (Which means crap quality). The server is streaming TS or PES too over my LAN and VLAN, so that i am able to watch TV on other computers or Notebook in the garden.

I am not interresting in using that Box for T-Home IPTV ( I am not a T-Online customer anymore)

My idea was to use that box only as a VDR Streaming Client.

Is this possible with the original Box setup ?
Will I have only to replace all thoses Files (NK.BIN, BooterCE.exe, TV2Client.exe ....) or will i have ABSOLUTELY to make that Modchip ?

Thx a lot in advance for any answers,

Regards,

Macfly.

You need a modchip, ABSOLUTELY!

Ok, thx a lot for the answer.

So i guess i should have a look now at all conponents i will need to buy. I had a look on the forum but did not really find a nice list of them (for Modchip, Serial and JTAG interface...).
I am a computer Scientitst and Linux expert, so i guess i may help on the linux booting part. who knows ! :)
However i am bad at solding, so i hope i will get it right. If anyone as tips, they will be welcome ;)

Cheers

Thx asgard for the anwser,

Components are ordered, but i am a bit confused on a point.
I read most of the Wiki and HowTo but where do i find which Hardware Version i have ?
On the label under the Box (S/N xxxxxx Rev 0J) or according to how the mainboard looks like ?
On my mainboard i also have a label with written on it M3210 S/N xxxxx P/N xxxxxxx-0B  GE
Because on my Mainboard, I do have the JTAG, UART0 & JP1 as shown here

its the label under the box.

with Rev 0J your JTAG port only works when you fix the JTAG-Enable directly on the CPU

Ok, thx guies,

So i got all components this morning and started to build the Modchip.
(based on Schneeleopard modchip http://www.t-hack.com/forum/index.php?topic=47.45)
I am now a bit confused for the Parallel-Port cable to program the ATMEGA8. On his drawing he connects the ATMEGA8 to an ISP Connector, but i cannot find it inside his components list. So i am blocked. I started to build the Parallel D-SUB 25 with the GNDs and 100R as shown here : http://www.t-hack.com/forum/index.php?topic=54.0
which means i am completely lost...on one drawing ISP connector 1-10 pins and on the eJTAG-DLC5 1-12 pins.

Futhermore i must now also find out where to get the +3.3V and GNDs from.....
I spent hours reading the Wiki again but as there are different solution, i dont know how to go forward.

Could anyone help, please ?

Here are some photos of my work up to now....(Dont lauft ! this is the first time i do something like that and never did any soldering before :) )

Hi,

http://www.t-hack.com/forum/index.php?topic=54.0 is about eJTAG cable which you don't really need for modchip. Build the cable according to is0-mick howto http://www.t-hack.com/forum/index.php?topic=252.0, the page is titled "Programmer Schematic"

i've taken the GND & 3.3V from eJTAG connector on board.

Cheers bdn,

Ok i understood my mistake ! Both eJTAG and ATMEGA8 needs a D-SUB25, and i had mix both.... Stupid me ! :)

But i still dont undertand where to get VCC and GND from the Mainboard  ! I connected my modchip to the JTAG (J5) on the mainboard, the TDI, TDO, TMS & TCK where easy to sold, but i had big troubles solding the GNDs, it would not glue at all....I had to drill a bit each pin before to be able to sold.

I dont see any VCC on the JTAG as describe here: http://www.t-hack.com/wiki/index.php/EJTAG

what am i missing again ?

Macfly.

PS: I have a german T-Home X300T Rev B 0J

Hi,

it's VIO (14 - VCC on Wriggler), to be sure just mess voltage to any GND.
