Hey Folks,

h**p://www.engadget.com/2010/09/14/hdcp-master-key-supposedly-released-unlocks-hdtv-copy-protect/

So I read that the HDCP master Key is in the wild, what do you think this means for DRM in terms of our boxes.
Either for recorded shows and PPV?

Regards
Chris

It has no effect, the hdmi problem is the bandwidth, not the encryption. The picture quality would still suffer somewhat from re-encoding the uncompressed data and it would take a long time unless you are one of those guys who buy $1k cpus.
bringer of linux, conqueror of hdmi, jack of all trades.
