WinCE / Re: tv2remotekeys ?

This stuff was a very long time ago.
Maybe they ditched this stuff, or the box you are trying is not running windows CE and is running the linux version?

Just tried updating mine again and it still is on the winCE :(
I also noticed on your screenshot, that your box is ALSO on the winCE version as well!

Hmm Interesting..
Any URL's in the pcap file? is there a way to do a forced update again, and see what url's it gets its software from?

Hi Steve,
Just wondering if they have they updated your box to the new linux version yet?

Mick

Pity you didnt have the box connected up via a laptop to the internet or such.
Then you could sniff the data with wireshark or such, and find the URL's for the updata files etc.

I believe the bcm range of chips can have the jtag interface "passworded" so it will only unlock with a certain command / key sequence.

I did have a poke around with a bcm7335, which would only give a response when set to jtag mode, and I got nothing with Ejtag mode. (there are jumpers to select).

Just wondering if anyone has sniffed the URL / Update / Firmware for this?

Is there not a settings page for the BT connection? I seem to remember a diagnostic page or network setup page? Have you tried changing that manually to match your 192.168.10.x setup?

I'm on a 10.0.0.x range, and the BT box seems to download updates.
I'm not on BT and don't have BT service, but it still seems to attempt to connect ok.

Not sure on that one, seems a little strange, as I'm not even on BT or using a BT router. I was using a draytek vigor 2600 and the box connected to the internet no problems for updates etc.

Is there not a diagnostic page? or you could try the BT help forums?

The only problem that you may have, is that I heard later versions of the software disable the JTAG interface.

Been thinking about this the last few days..
The main chip on this is the same as the DM500HD receiver, I'd think both boxes would adhere to the same reference design or be very similar, seeing as most of the components are on a single chip.

Both boxes also appear to be little endian, so in theory it should be possible to use the DM500hd kernel / drivers on this box...

Due to jtag being disabled, I think the process of testing this would be more complicated than normal, not easy, but not impossible...

Any thoughts?

there is always the option to connect the jtag from the cpu-top ..
like shown here: http://www.t-hack.com/wiki/index.php/EJTAG_on_SMP

it is definately not an easy task, but several forum users, were able to do it.

He mentions that:
"JTAG-Enable TCK and TMS are attached to each other beneath the chip and then to ground"

so I don't think that would be possible??

Doing the same thing as what?

Maybe an explanation of what you are trying to do would be helpful...

Looks like the sigma based box isn't getting the update :(
So only the black Broadcom based boxes..

Think I'd hang fire on them until BT release linux on them and ditch winCE, which is apparently happening soon from what I read....

Altho even if they do that, I'd suspect the boxes use secure boot, so it's not going to be an easy mod as such.. altho still possible :)
